2010/11 Aims:
Mixed Tour:
GU1: Commence phase two of “Operation National Domination”, building on our top 20 finish in the UK in our debut season, aiming to break into ‘A Tour’ in 2011.
GU2: Continue to provide competitive Ultimate for those not in GU1. GU2 will aim to improve on their final 2010 finish, by moving into the next bracket up. This is considered a realistic, yet optimistic aim. GU2 will continue to act as a developmental side for GU1.
Open Tour:
GU: Continue to be a reasonably competitive C Tour side.
Continue our strong link with the Surrey Scorpions, in Guildford. It was agreed that with the Chairman of Guildford also Chairing Surrey, the relationship between the two clubs would be increased further.
Upon ending Lucky Huckers and becoming Guildford Ultimate, the club ethos was agreed that we would continue to provide competitive Ultimate for players of any ability within the Guildford & Surrey area. We will be focussed upon the UKU Mixed Tour, with a target of establishing Guildford as one of the best clubs in the country within 3 years; as well as becoming recognised as a large enough and strong enough club to also field a competitive second team, thus providing opportunities for all levels. Additionally, the club will also provide a medium for players to enter the UKU Open Tour, but without any specific competitive aims. The club will also aim to expand knowledge and participation of Ultimate within the local area, by providing regular sessions at local schools.
It was agreed, that the club has far exceeded initial expectations of the level of progress to be achieved within year 1 of the three year plan; and that year two is one to very much be looked forward to.
